Each year we take a giant vacation and visit some of our favorite breweries. 2019 was the year of Montana, which involved a trip through Fort Collins, Colorado. Fort Collins is an interesting town, the locals seem to be having much more fun than the tourists.
Our incredible New Belgium rep Wes Sessoms wrote a book on why New Belgium should roll out the red carpet. Hands down the most fun time we have ever had touring a brewery. From the welcome Beer Girl greeting sign to the ride down the slide we spent 6 hours drinking way too much doing whatever we wanted to do. The highlight of the whole trip was getting to stand on the production line and pull a less than 60-second old Fat Tire off & drink it Laverne & Shirley style! Great trip and a great beer. This is the quintessential amber lager. If they had remade Smokie & the Bandit in the early 2000's it would have been about bootlegging Fat Tire from Fort Collins! Thank you Wes!
