Solena Pinot Gris 2019
Always a summertime (and every other time) favorite, the bouquet of the Willamette Valley Pinot Gris opens up with notes of just-picked Asian Pear and a hint of Meyer lemon zest. It’s bolstered by elements of honeysuckle and orange blossom which carry through to its crisp and refreshing palate.

Soléna kills it with this grape, and this is the best vintage yet. Classy wine styling is here on full display, with ripe and fleshy fruit flavors of pear and melon, alongside splendid details of cinnamon and toast. It’s taken decades, but Oregon’s best examples of Pinot Gris belong with the nation’s top-tier white wines from any grape.

COMMENTARY: The 2019 Soléna Pinot Gris is an excellent example of this grape variety in the New World. TASTING NOTES: This wine is fresh, brisk, and bright. Enjoy is lovely aromas and flavors of tart/sweet apples as early-evening drink in the backyard or in a pairing with grilled prawns. (Tasted: May 24, 2020, San Francisco, CA)
